I was born and
raised in Richmond, Nelson Bays, attending Waimea College where
I studied art through to the 7th Form year.
While pursuing a career in the Insurance industry, I returned to
evening art classes at Waimea College where I discovered the gentle
medium of chalk pastels.
With a change in career paths and now operating
a part-time massage healing therapy clinic, returning to my heart-felt
passion of drawing was an obvious choice of a complementary business, having studied
sculpture and painting part-time at NMIT.
All too often in my healing profession I see people who are overworked
and stressed with the complexities of life.
My studies of
colour and light in the natural world, serve as a reminder of the
simplistic beauty and grace that surround us, quite often unnoticed.
The flowers are like portraits that will remind us of people, places
and faces, a reminder of our own inner beauty.
