Christine Stewart Artist

I was born and grew up in Richmond, Nelson Bays, in New Zealand's South Island, which is a place of abundant natural beauty and majesty. An early appreciation of this environment has had a steady nurturing influence on my life and work. As well as a visual artist, I am a poet, and a healer.

My studies of colour and light in the natural world serve as a reminder of the simplistic beauty and grace that surround us, quite often unnoticed. Capturing the essence of this beauty has a positive effect on the soul and mind.

My current work involves capturing and abstracting the natural forms and hues found within flowers and plants, which are like portraits that remind us of people, places and faces, a reminder of our own inner beauty. I also accept commissions for painting and illustrating.
